Dodge Neon Nerf Bars: Convenience with the Look

January 22, 2008

Dodge is a North American car brand under the Chrysler brand. It currently comprises 60% of Chrysler’s sales on vans and trucks although it has also manufactured midrange cars. In the goal of providing affordable but quality and appealing compact cars to ordinary consumers, the company introduced the Dodge Neon in 1995. Initially offered in front-wheel-drive sedan and coupe versions, the Dodge Neon was imaged to be a car that was fun to drive. Among the Neon’s highlights were its spacious interior, carefully tuned steering and suspension, strong brakes, and excellent handling. It was powered by a DOHC four-cylinder engine that could deliver about 140 horsepower, which was quite impressive for a car of its size and price. Because of this, the first generation of the Dodge Neon enjoyed tremendous market success. However, the response to the 2000 redesign of the Dodge Neon was not as positive as the previous one because it was more expensive. Consumers opted for other brands that had the same specs but were less costly. In 2005, Dodge finally ended the production of the Dodge Neon.

Even though it is no longer in production, thousands of Dodge Neons can still be seen on the roads driven by satisfied owners. The reason behind this seemingly continued patronage can be greatly attributed to the Neon’s exemplary performance made possible by its quality auto parts. And although the Dodge Neon already exhibits the “good looks” that can still make heads turn toward its direction, it can be further enhanced with accessories like the Dodge Neon nerf bars.

The Dodge Neon nerf bar is a tubular device attached at the side of a vehicle to serve as a step, making the entry into and exit from a vehicle a whole lot easier. It also aids the vehicle to avoid damage caused by rocks and other road debris when driving in harsh environments. But most importantly, the Dodge neon nerf bar can heighten the appeal of a vehicle by providing an illusion that a vehicle is taller that it actually is. This is done by filling the space between the vehicle and the ground.

Most Dodge Neon nerf bars that are offered in the market nowadays are made of 3-inch or 4-inch stainless steel or aluminum. They are commonly fitted with non-slip step pads. For added style, some Dodge Neon nerf bars are available in chrome, black powder coated, or polished mirror finish. In choosing Dodge Neon nerf bars, the color and the other accessories of the vehicle should be the main considerations. If the vehicle is mostly equipped with chrome parts or accessories, then chrome nerf bars are the best choice. If the color of the vehicle is dark, then black powder coated nerf bars will do the job perfectly.
