NEWARK, NJ NJ TRANSIT will adjust bus service for the summer months on June 23, with significant service enhancements on some routes to better meet customer demand.

The enhancements include more than 200 additional trips per week on the #62 route between Newark Penn Station and Newark Liberty International Airport to accommodate airport employee work schedules and to relieve overcrowding on existing trips. Weekday, weekend and late-night trips will be added, including an additional 26 trips each weekday, 36 Saturday trips and 40 Sunday trips.

The changes also include Friday “early getaway” service from the Port Authority Bus Terminal on selected routes, as well as other route adjustments to improve connections and to reflect summer ridership patterns.

These adjustments are part of a scheduled, system-wide bus timetable change. Customers are encouraged to review timetables available aboard buses, at customer service offices, online at www.njtransit.com or by calling 1-800-772-2222.
