Seasonal service begins December 26 from Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center and Port Authority Bus Terminal

NEWARK, NJ — Skiers, snowboarders and snow tubers can save when they hit the slopes with NJ TRANSIT this winter season. Starting Saturday, December 29, NJ TRANSIT and Mountain Creek are again teaming up to provide transportation and discounts to Mountain Creek resort in Vernon, NJ.

Express service on the No. 304 bus route (previously numbered as an extension of the No. 194) will operate daily from Saturday, December 29 through Tuesday, January 1 (including New Year’s Day).

Beginning Saturday, January 5, service will operate on weekends and holidays only through Sunday, March 10 (including Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Presidents’ Day).

Buses will depart from Port Authority Bus Terminal Gate 326 at 7:30 a.m., pick up passengers at Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center at 8 a.m. and arrive in front of the new Mountain Creek Red Tail Lodge at 9:12 a.m. The return trip will depart from Mountain Creek Red Tail Lodge at 4:30 p.m., stop at Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center at 5:40 p.m. and arrive at the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 6:12 p.m. These express buses will not make local stops.

Roundtrip fare from the Port Authority Bus Terminal is $25.50 for adults and $11.50 for children ages 5-11, senior citizens and customers with disabilities.

From Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center, roundtrip fare is $8.80 for adults and $4 for children ages 5-11, senior citizens and customers with disabilities.

All customers 19 and older can receive a $10 discount off Mountain Creek weekend/holiday lift tickets. Children and young adults ages 7-18 and senior citizens age 65 and older receive a $6 discount on weekends and holidays. The discount is available by showing a valid NJ TRANSIT bus receipt at the Mountain Creek admission office.

This year, NJ TRANSIT customers can take advantage of new discounts on a variety of activities at Mountain Creek, including $5 off Drop Zone Tubing, $2 off Soaring Eagle and $2 off Alpine Mountain Coaster. NJ TRANSIT customers can also save 20 percent on lodging at Grand Cascades Lodge, Minerals Resort & Spa and The Appalachian.
