NEW ORLEANS—Today, at approximately 8:40 a.m., a Dunbar armored truck was robbed by a lone gunman while the guards were stopped at a business in the 200 block of Broadway Street near Leake Avenue in the uptown area of New Orleans.

The robber forced his way into the armored car at gunpoint when one of the guards returned from the business. The robber forced the guards to drive the truck to the area of Chestnut and Audubon streets, where he fled the truck on foot in an unknown direction, taking a bag containing an unknown amount of money from the truck with him prior to exiting the truck.

The robber, armed with a black revolver, is described as a black male, mid 20s to early 30s, approximately six feet tall with a slim build. He was wearing a long-sleeve blue shirt, dark pants, white cloth gloves with rubber tips, and a white garden-style hat covering his face.

Anyone who has information is asked to contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation at (504) 816-3000, or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
