DHAKA, AUGUST 5, 2018 – An official vehicle from the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka, which was transporting the Ambassador, was attacked by a group of armed adult men, some on motorcycles, in the Mohammadpur area of Dhaka on Saturday, August 4. The Ambassador and her security team departed the area unharmed. There were no injuries to the Ambassador, her drivers, or security staff; however, two security vehicles sustained some damage.

We express our appreciation to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police and security officials for their quick and professional response following the incident.

ঢাকায় যুক্তরাষ্ট্র রাষ্ট্রদূতের গাড়িতে হামলা

ঢাকা, আগস্ট ৫, ২০১৮ — মোটরসাইকেল আরোহীসহ একদল সশস্ত্র লোক শনিবার, আগস্ট ৪ ঢাকার মুহাম্মদপুর এলাকায় ঢাকায় নিযুক্ত যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের রাষ্ট্রদূতকে বহনকারী দূতাবাসের একটি গাড়ি লক্ষ্য করে হামলা চালায়। রাষ্ট্রদূত ও তাঁর নিরাপত্তায় নিয়োজিত দল অক্ষত অবস্থায় ঘটনাস্থল ত্যাগ করেন। হামলায় রাষ্ট্রদূত, তাঁর গাড়িচালক ও নিরাপত্তা স্টাফদের কোন ক্ষতি হয়নি। তবে রাষ্ট্রদূতের নিরাপত্তা দলের দুটি গাড়ির কিছুটা ক্ষতি হয়েছে।

এই ঘটনায় দ্রুত সাড়াপ্রদান এবং পেশাগত দায়িত্ব পালনের জন্য আমরা ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশ এবং নিরাপত্তা কর্মকর্তাদের প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করছি।
