June 24, 2005

Overall season points leader Sebastien Loeb of France has the lead after the first day of the Rally of the Acropolis in Greece as the Citroen driver chases his fifth straight win on the World Rally Championship circuit.

Loeb ended the day 0:06.1 seconds ahead of Peugeot driver Marcus Gronholm of Finland. Spain's Carlos Sainz, also in a Citroen, is third, 14 seconds behind his teammate.

There are eight special stages Saturday and four Sunday before the Greek rally ends.
