IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Overland Park Police Department responded to an injury accident at 159th and Lowell on the 1st of September, at 4:11 p.m.

Upon arrival, police officers determined two vehicles were involved and disabled in the intersection. One driver had been ejected from his car. He was driving a restored black 1949 Mercury. The car was not equipped with seat belts. He had no passengers. The second car was a light blue 2012 Chrysler 200 four door. The driver and two passengers of the Chrysler did not report any injury.

The driver of the 1949 Mercury was died as a result of his injuries. He has been identified as 65 year old David Lee Summers, of Olathe, Kansas.

The Overland Park Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
