Valentino Rossi domina il gran premio d'Olanda ad Assen. Il campione pesarese partito dalla 11° posizione, dopo delle qualifiche sfavorevoli, č stato il vero mattatore della corsa, realizzando una rimonta impressionante che lo ha portato a soli tre giri dalla fine, in testa alla gara..

Una rimonta costante e determinata che ha permesso al campione di Tavullia di scavalcare posizione in posizione ogni avversario fino a raggiungere l'unico vero avversario della stagione, l'australiano Casey Stoner.

Rossi che sfoggiava un'inedita colorazione della moto in onore del lancio della Fiat 500 č apparso esaltato alla fine della gara, incredulo di un'impresa tanto sofferta ma guadagnata fino in fondo.

In 250 vince Jorge Lorenzo.

In 125 la vittoria va invece a Mattia Pasini.
