Valentino Rossi con quattro gare di anticipo è diventato campione del mondo nella classe MotoGP, infatti al Gran Premo di Malesia gli è bastato arrivare secondo, dietro a Loris Capirossi.
Il primo titolo lo vince nel 1997 nella classe 125, l'anno successivo gareggia nella classe 250 dove vince il titolo nel 1999 e nel 2001 vince anche nella classe 500.
Nella classe MotoGP esplode il talento di Rossi: quattro stagione e quattro titoli del mondo.
