HOUSTON, Texas (April 21, 2016) - - Amidst days of heavy rain and localized flooding through his hometown city of Houston, Texas Late Model driver Zach Knowles is trying to stay focused about getting back to racing this weekend at Central Texas Speedway (CTS).

But, no matter how hard the stout Texan tries to think about getting his car back to Victory Lane, his heart and soul remains with his friends, neighbors and colleagues who are trying to clean up and recover from the recent wrath of Mother Nature.

“It’s hard to think about getting back to racing, but we’ll be there this weekend,” offered Knowles. “We’ll be racing for more than just a trophy or points this weekend though, we’re racing to bring awareness to pay it forward and helping others.

“I’m doing what I can to help others less fortunate recover from this mess and through our Zach Knowles Motorsports on-track program, we’re encouraging others to do the same.”

And while the cleanup will potentially take weeks to months before normal life resumes, Knowles is determined to do what he can both on and off the race track to make a difference in his community.

“We appreciate all the support of Grant Sheet Metal and all of our partners at Zach Knowles Motorsports, but we’re on a mission right now and once that mission is complete, we’ll get back to the fundamentals of racing. In the meantime, we’ll use the blessings that we have before us to do what we can through race cars to not only help, encourage our community to rally together and stand as one.”

Trying to get into the racing mind set though, returning to CTS for the first time in nearly a month after scoring a third-place finish in his respective feature, Knowles says his ZKM team is more than capable of upping the ante this weekend.

“It’s been a few hard weeks of a lot of work to make sure we’re ready,” added Knowles, an aspiring NASCAR driver. “Our No. 51 Ford Fusion should be pretty strong this weekend, but it’s important for us to leave the track on Saturday night with a strong result, even if that means we aren’t celebrating in the winner’s circle.”

While Knowles has been nose-deep in his full-time executive position at REDCO, Knowles is also well aware that his name continues to surface in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series garages, especially after receiving his clearance to compete at select tracks on a national platform.

“It’s still our goal by seasons’ end to hit up a national series NASCAR event,” added Knowles. “We have some sponsorship and we have a number of people who are working hard trying to make magic happen on the outside. We know what we’re looking to do and the achievable goals we want to set. Hopefully, I can get to another race, maybe Kansas Speedway in May to network a little more.”

In addition to Grant Sheet Metal, ZKM is proud to welcome the support of Reynolds company, Wholesale Electric, Taylor Lightning Protection, Material Express Inc., Midwest Electric, REDCO Tool and Fastener, Frio Acres and HD Supply as associate partners this season.

The second round of the 2016 season from Central Texas Speedways hits the ground running this Saturday with gates opening at 3:00 p.m. (CT). Tickets are just $15.00 with kids 12 and under free. Discounts are available for seniors and military members.

Zach Knowles Motorsports has additional primary or associate marketing partnerships available for this season. Interested parties should contact zach@zachknowles.com.
