Chevrolet Closed Car Call Gains Steadily

General Sales Manager Explains Why Public Is Adopting Type of Auto

"Increased closed car sales are not due to change of public preference, but to correction of the differential between closed and open cars," according to Colin Campbell, general sales manager Chevrolet Motor Company.

"In 1921 automobile trade papers gave much space to the discussion of the wide differentials betwen open and closed models of the various makes, contending that the public as a whole preferred closed cars for all year transportation, but considered the difference in prices inconsistent with the admitted difference in value.

"Confident that the correction of the price differential would produce the volume to justify it, Chevrolet Motor Company priced its 1922 line accordingly. The results have proved the wisdom of this policy. The proportion of our closed car business to our total sales has been increasing so rapidly that we anticipate it will represent more than 50 per cent within a year.

"Preference for closed cars is due to their more logical design and constriction for passenger transportation."
