Sun Prairie, Wisconsin (June 6, 2008): The RACINFORACURE.com Racing Team led by driver, Derek Thorn let the NASCAR Camping World East Series know that not only can they bounce back from adversity, they=re also a threat too win and very soon!

The Sun Prairie, Wisconsin-based team made the long haul to South Boston Speedway in South Boston, Virginia for the Strutmaster 150. After not even making the show in the NASCAR Camping World East VS West combination race at Iowa Speedway, Thorn and crew were out looking for redemption in the great state of Virginia.

ARunning the South Boston Camping World East Strutmaster 150 was a great experience. The Operation Lifesaver / RACINFORACURE.com Ford Fusion wasn=t very good off the trailer, but the crew put a lot of work into it and we were sitting 4th in the final practice session.@ Thorn stated.

After Qualifying eighth, Thorn made his presence felt immediately by quickly working his way up to the Top Five and then up to second spot for over 100 laps, He even grabbed the lead on four different occasions from eventual race winner, Brian Ickler for a total of four laps! The first laps led of his NASCAR Camping World Series career!

Unfortunately all the hard work that Thorn put forth in his Ford resulted in just a 20th place finish on the results sheet. AThe track was really narrow and some drivers were giving you more room than others.@ The Lakeport, California driver matter of factly said.

AIt was an eventful night, our finish doesn=t show it but we had a great run going, I=m really proud of the crew and am really excited about our next race at New Hampshire.@ Thorn said. ASouth Boston was a beast on equipment, there were a lot of bent body panels by the time the day was over.@

Tentatively, the next race on the 2008 calendar is an ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division event, the 2nd annual Tradition 200 on Friday and Saturday, June 13-14, 2008 at Berlin Raceway, located West of Grand Rapids in Marne, Michigan.

In Thorn=s last ASALMS event, the Pride of Iowa 150 at Iowa Speedway, he slammed the Turn Four wall on Lap 119 of the unique Triple 50s Feature race and dropped to Ninth in the season long points chase heading into the Berlin event.

The next NASCAR Camping World East Series race for Thorn and the RACINFORACURE.com team is on Friday, June 27, 2008 at the AMagic Mile@ of New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire.

Immediately afterwards, everyone will make the all night trek to Mansfield Motorsports Park in Mansfield, Ohio for the ASALMS Challenge Division race scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2008; the All-American Classic 200. The team will miss the Friday Test and Tune at the 2 mile progressively banked paved oval in the Buckeye State.

ARACINGFORACURE has received a great response from the community, and I=m extremely proud to be a small part of this big picture. It=s all coming together and I want to thank everyone involved and everyone that has donated to the cause.@ An appreciative Thorn remarked.

Thorn then ended; AAs this Shawn Keep Inc., ALS Association, RACINFORACURE.com, Operation Lifesaver Lucas Oil, Paul Davis Restoration, Innovation Mold and Design Team keeps growing, its only bound to get bigger, better, and much more exciting.@

At every event Thorn races in this season, whether it=s in the ASALMS Challenge Division or the NASCAR Camping World East Series, the RACINFORACURE.com team will always have an honorary pit crew member that has been diagnosed with ALS sitting alongside the team in the pits.

For the 2008 racing season in the ASALMS Challenge Division, Thorn will steer a #44 RACINFORACURE.com Ford Fusion with sponsorship coming from; PromoGiant.com, Home Living Solutions, Lucas Oil Products, MSI Marking Services, Innovation Retrokits, Innovation Mold and Design, Optima Batteries, Pathfinder Chassis, M.P.H.
