“Rising Phenom Collects Two More Trophies At Red River Speedway”

NORTH WICHITA, Texas (August 16, 2011) - - Texas native Michael Dabney Jr. continues to set an impressive pace since returning to his home state nearly two weeks ago after picking up two wins this past weekend at Red River Speedway in North Wichita, Texas.

Embracing the two wins at Red River, in addition to a popular win at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) on August 11 during the annual Thursday Night Summer Stampede, the momentum that the Crandall, Texas has earned is also definitely boosting his racing resume.

We’ve had one bad night with a broken oil cooler, but other than that we’ve been able to celebrate in victory lane. I cannot tell you what that means to me and everyone that makes it possible.”

Still visioning on the recent seven-week stretch of competition in the 2011 edition of the Summer Shootout at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway, the stock-car bound pilot believes what he has learned in Texas could ultimately better his chances for 2012.

“Competing in the Summer Shootout at definitely had its challenges, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world,” sounded Dabney. “I had my ups and downs, but I took an unbelievable amount of experience and staying in the seat has undoubtedly been crucial to my success here in Texas. I really think there are some key elements that can help me when we go back next summer.”

Outside of North Carolina and knowing that the competition he faces is completely different thousands of miles away, Dabney Jr. know that he is still racing against some of the pros and more experienced in the Lone Star state.

“Every track you go to, you’ll have your favorites,” Dabney Jr. explained. “I know I wasn’t particularly a favorite at Red River, as they always have a good group of cars that show up there, but it’s fun to race with those guys and it’s even more of a blessing when I’m able to take the checkered flag first. But all along, I’ve said, it’s not about me. I have a ton of support from a lot of people including my father, whose’ my number one supporter and that’s priceless.

Of course, there are a lot of others that make it possible for me to get it on the track too, so these trophies are not only for me, but for them too. I’m going to be heading back to North Carolina soon, but if we have the chance to race again (in Texas), we’re definitely going to do it.”

Upon his return to The Tar Heel State, the rising phenom will re-focus his racing efforts for the remainder of the 2011 season and begin preparing for what he hopes and is expecting will be a busy 2012.

“It’s not going to be easy, but I think with a lot of hard work and dedication, I’ll be racing a lot more than I have been in recent years and not just in Legends cars, but moving up the ranks,” sounded Dabney. “I’ve been very fortune enough to align myself with people who truly want the best for me and my racing career. At this point, I can’t ask for much more than that.”
