NEWTON, Iowa (July 13, 2011) - - As the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season presses on, Chad Hackenbracht and his CGH Motorsports team inch closer to scoring their inaugural ARCA victory. On a roll with three consecutive top-five finishes, the team sets their sights on conquering Iowa Speedway for Saturday’s Prairie Meadows 200.

While the New Philadelphia, Ohio native has never competed in a race at the .875-mile paved oval, but he did test at the state of the art facility in 2009, the year when Hackenbracht made the jump from the INEX Legend Car Series to ARCA in hopes of pursuing a stock car career.

“I really like Iowa Speedway,” said the 19-year old phenom. “I’ve never actually raced their but we did a test there a couple years ago and it was a place I told myself I couldn’t wait to actually come back and race.”

Considering that the driver of the No. 58 Tastee Apples Chevrolet Impala SS has a niche for short track racing, where he has blossomed through the pack to become a race contender, especially in the last two short track contests at Winchester (Ind.) Speedway and Berlin (Mich.) Raceway, Hackenbracht knows that his team led by crew chief Rob Torrey and director of competition Kevin Reed could finally seal the deal in just his 20th career start.

“We’re getting close,” offered Hackenbracht when asked about winning. “The team has really worked hard over the last couple of months to build a strong foundation. We were able to shake the monkey that was on our backs for the first couple of races, now we’re doing what we knew we were capable of all along. With a little luck and patience, this Saturday just might be the day.”

Whether or not Hackenbracht does score his first career ARCA victory in the 11th race of the 2011 ARCA Racing Series season, the team does have other goals on their agenda.

With their recent momentum, the 2008 Legends champion has continued to climb in the championship standings where he currently occupies the ninth position. His tractor beam has been working overtime and has quickly pulled in his eighth place competitor, which is easily up for grabs this weekend.

“While we’re making some great strides in the standings, we really could use some of the guys ahead of us to have some misfortune like we’ve experienced this year in order to catch-up. We could easily leave Iowa eighth in points but we could also slide the ladder just as fast. We have to be smart during the race. It’s a pretty wide short track which is great – but anything can still happen and you have to be able to leave yourself some space. We don’t want to tear up our No. 58 Tastee Apples Chevrolet Impala SS – so I have to use my head and remember our objectives.”

From his fifth place finish at Berlin (Mich.) Raceway last weekend, the Mooresville, North Carolina-based team made the haul to Lucas Oil Raceway Park at Indianapolis where the freshman team took an opportunity to observe the race track as several ARCA teams participated in a private test in preparation for the Ansell Protective Gloves 200 set for Thursday, July 28th.

“Even though we didn’t get any track time, I learned an awful lot about LOR,” added Hackenbracht. “I was able to watch some of the other ARCA teams work on their cars and study the different lines the drivers were taking around there. It looks like a pretty neat track to drive, so I cannot wait to go back and try it for myself.”
