(Concord, NC) April 10, 2008 -- The Andy Belmont Racing crew loads up the transporter, ready to embark on a solid 2-1/2 week travel schedule from the team headquarters in Concord, North Carolina through the Midwest. The team heads to Salem Speedway this weekend, ready to continue the Daytona success celebrated two months ago when Tom Hessert piloted the #1 MAACO Ford Fusion to a 6th place finish in his first Daytona experience.

“While these past two months off from the race schedule gives us time to prepare, we also want to get back to the track and show what we can do,” said Andy Belmont. “We’ve got a heck of a driver in Tom Hessert and are anxious to showcase his abilities as well as show the shop talent we have in putting great cars under him. Tom’s had success here in Salem in midgets and sprints and knows how to get around this track. The combination of Tom’s ability to drive and our team’s ability to put a good piece under him is a winning combination for this team.”

After Salem, the Andy Belmont Racing team heads to Kentucky to test for the Drive Smart Buckle Up Kentucky 150 on May 10th, the weekend following the Rockingham event. From Kentucky, the ABR crew heads to Iowa for the Prairie Meadows 250. After Iowa, the team heads straight to Kansas to contest the Kansas Lottery $150 Grand before returning to their Concord, North Carolina home as April winds to a close.

All in all over the next 18 days, the Andy Belmont Racing team will log over 2500 miles between home and four Midwest locations with two rigs, four race cars, two motor homes, ten crew members, five motors and hundreds of man hours, all in the desire to put driver Tom Hessert and the #1 MAACO Ford up front each week. “I’ve been doing this for a long time,” said Belmont. “You just can’t sit back and rest- you have to continually work and continually move forward. The minute you stop moving forward you back right into the fence and we’re just not about that.”
