The following is a statement from Ryan Wilson, driver of the No. 12 Randolph Bank Toyota Camry to his marketing partners, fans and supporters after his team was informed Tuesday afternoon that his third place finish at Caraway (N.C.) Speedway for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series (NWAAS) Sunday afternoon would be disqualified following an alleged illegal part in the team’s intake manifold.

RYAN WILSON, NO. 12 RANDOLPH BANK TOYOTA CAMRY:

“My team received a call from Caraway Speedway Tuesday afternoon about our intake after it was taken to NASCAR’s Research and Development Center. After reviewing the part, NASCAR has called it illegal. We were thrown out from our third place finish as well as the first and second place finishers. It is still our (Ryan Wilson Motorsports) position that the intake has all the correct and legal casting marks and the final decision by NASCAR was a judgment call. Although, we do not agree with the penalty, we will respect their decision and put this event behind us and head back to the track and put our No. 12 Randolph Bank Toyota Camry in contention for all those who support and believe in us.”
