MID-AMERICAN PREPARES FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY BATTLES

Matt Panure
Mid American Stock Car Series
June 25, 2012

Fort Atkinson (June 25, 2012) The Mid-American Stock Cars have had three weeks to prepare for two battles within a week celebrating Independence Day. The first is this Friday evening, June 29th, at Madison International Speedway, Oregon, WI. Track general manager, Dave Grueneberg anticipates the excitement of Mid-American stating, “With the racing I have seen your guys doing this year I look forward to your feature. They do it while showing lot of respect for each other.”

Multi Mid-American champ and current point leader, James Swan, will attempt to rise above the gremlins that have so often challenged him at MIS. After seemingly covering the field last fall at MIS he fell victim to a flat tire while leading. He was able recover for an eighth place finish.

James will also have to overcome fierce competition from 2010 champ and former MIS winner Lyle Nowak and 2011 and multi MIS winner Jeremy Spoonmore for that “Salute to America” trophy. Lyle is second and Jeremy fourth in current Mid-American points. Hard charging rookie, Ryan Farrell, running a strong third in points, will test his versatility against the experience of the wily veterans.

MIS will once again host an awesome fireworks display brought to you by Thundercat Fireworks of Madison. Contact MIS for times and details. Phone: (608)835-9700 or go to http://www.madisoninternationalspeedway.com/

Then on Thursday evening, July 5th, the Mid-American Army marches north to the foothills of Wisconsin’s beautiful Rib Mountain to debut at historic State Park Speedway. You may also celebrate the holiday with fireworks at State Park Speedway.

For most Mid-American warriors, this will be a first as the Series has never had the Stock Cars on this battle ground. The troops will be combining their notes from other tracks hoping to hit on the right combination.

One team that will have a heads up on everyone will be veteran Lyle Nowak. Lyle can claim court advantage with many local track championships at his home town track. You never want to count out the tenacity and versitility of any of the Mid-American soldiers. With the track experience of any number of the old war horses and the adaptibility of the next generation of Mid-Am racers, Lyle will have his hands full.

In this 20th anniversary season Mid-American has one of the strongest and most competitive group of racers in a long time. Looking down the 2012 points list it’s hard to pick one of the regular runners who wouldn’t have a shot at the win Thursday night.

Join the fun and action at State Park Speedway, Wausau, WI. Contact SPS for times and details. Phone: 715-212-9006 or go to http://www.stateparkspeedway.com/
