It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself as the new director of the SEMA Action Network (SAN). My primary responsibility will be to manage and direct our grassroots network and oversee its outreach strategies to the hobbyist community and to the media. With your help and support, I'm committed to growing the momentum of the SAN and its legislative causes.
Although I will be working closely with SAN staff based in Washington, D.C., I will remain stationed in my Southern California home and birthplace. This new opportunity is the latest in a string of fortunate events that have allowed me a very gratifying career with SEMA. From my beginnings as a SEMA scholarship applicant and intern, I have been fortunate to accept roles in both the Membership and Marketing Departments and plan on using that knowledge and experience to further the SAN’s cause. You may have even run into me at the SAN booth during the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour over the last several years. Please stop by and introduce (or reintroduce) yourself at this year’s event!
I’ve been fortunate to make a living in an industry that I’m deeply passionate about. My family brought me to the drag races at Pomona, sprint races at Ascot and sand races on the dunes of Pismo Beach before I could clearly speak my own name. This enthusiasm for the hobby has taken many forms throughout my life and is probably best represented by my longtime daily driver, a 1958 black and lime green mild custom Ford F-100 pickup. It’s seen countless miles as a college commuter, weekend hot rod and tow vehicle for a land speed racing team. I even took my date to the senior prom in it! In the works is a traditionally-styled, chopped ’31 Ford Model A coupe on Deuce rails. Stay tuned for more on that project.
