LAS VEGAS --
The 2012 Pacific Street Car Association 13th season kicks off Friday at The Strip at Las Vegas Motorspeedway with the three-day Record Breaker Nationals. The PSCA, featuring seven heads up classes, four bracket classes, and three index classes, are headlined by Pro Street, a low six-second doorslammer class with cars rocketing down the quarter mile at 245 mph.

“After seeing testing at The Strip and seeing NHRA back on television,” said PSCA President Mel Roth, “we’re ready to go racing. I think everyone is rested up from the offseason and want to be at the track. This could be one of our strongest seasons yet and we’re looking forward to seeing cars go down the track on Friday.”

Doorslammer fans can check out live coverage of this weekend’s quarter-mile action at Bangshift.com. For the full event schedule, click HERE.

In addition to the regular PSCA classes, two Jr. Dragster classes (8-12 year old and 13-18 year old) are scheduled to participate in all 2012 PSCA shows. The Jr. Dragsters will race prior to and after the other PSCA classes at each event and will be scheduled as not to affect the flow of the other PSCA classes. Both classes will compete for race trophies and prizes. Jr. Dragster racers will also compete for event points that will be counted toward a class champion at the end of the season.
