DENVER, North Carolina (December 19, 2007) - - Stott Classic Racing (SCR) headed by longtime Motorsports leader Corrie Stott wasn’t planning on participating in the three-day ARCA RE/MAX Series test at Daytona International Speedway this past weekend, but heading back to the team’s shop in Denver, North Carolina, the team was all smiles and glad they did after posting some extremely competitive laps with Florida’s Michael Faulk at the helm.

Working on the No. 07 Dodge Charger Friday at the team’s shop, the SCR transporter pulled in to the legendary Daytona track early Saturday morning with Faulk ready to climb behind the wheel and get down to business.

During the morning session, Faulk maneuvered his No. 07 automobile to a quick time of 50.674 seconds at 177.606 MPH putting the team 19th on the board. The SCR team skipped Saturday’s drafting session turning all of their concentration towards Sunday which would consist of a heavy amount of drafting practice.

Returning to the track on Sunday, the team was met with gloomy skies after powerful thunderstorms drenched the Daytona Beach facility halting practice until 11:30am Sunday morning. Before turning all their concentration towards drafting, Faulk and the team once again took to the track for single-car runs. Pushing out a time of 50.425 seconds or 178.483 MPH SCR found some additional speed from Saturday, planting the organization 13th on the overall rundown.

Excited to get into the draft early, Faulk and SCR hooked up with Sheltra Motorsports and their driver Patrick Sheltra with Gabi DiCarlo and Bryan Silas in-toe. Faulk and Sheltra stormed to the top of the drafting charts early posting a time of 49.779 seconds amounting to a speed of 180.799 MPH holding solidly in the top-15 all day. Faulk concluded the day 13th overall in the draft and one of 14 drivers to break the 49-second bracket on Sunday afternoon.

“I’m really happy how the test went,” said Faulk, who has two top-10 finishes in three ARCA starts. Corrie (Stott) purchased this car from MB3 Motorsports earlier this year and it’s just as fast as when we raced it at Daytona in February. I had a lot of fun this weekend. Hopefully we can find a sponsor to help us come back here in February and I can give the Stott Classic Racing bunch a good shot at finishing in the top-10.”

Corrie Stott, car owner of Stott Classic Racing offered, “I could not be happier about our test at Daytona. We worked long nights and with little sleep to get this car together and it paid off. I really enjoy working with Michael Faulk. He is a heck of a racecar driver and respects the car and the track. He is a true privilege to work with. We don’t have anything lined up for the race, but maybe our run this past weekend puts us on the map and we can attract someone to give us a shot in February.”

Stott added, “We worked with the Ilmor Engineering package at Daytona and they make some serious horsepower. Our car was able to suck-up really good and we were able to hold our own during the single-car runs. We had an exceptional piece at Talladega and unfortunately lost the car in an incident. Our program really started to shine near the end of the 2007 ARCA season; it would be a shame if we could not put something together to keep it going in Daytona.”

Stott Classic Racing has immediate openings to run a full-time ARCA schedule in 2008, interested parties should contact the team at 980.241.8439 for more information.
