SALEM, Indiana (April 2, 2009) - Owensboro, Kentucky native Brett Hudson is still searching for his first career ARCA RE/MAX Series victory but as the series resumes competition in Sunday’s Kentuckian Ford Dealers 200 by Federated Car Care, Hudson and his Brett Hudson Motorsports no doubt emerge a pre-race favorite.

Hudson, who will carry the No.25 emblem for Venturni Motorsports for the third consecutive race will look for his third top-five effort and fifth top-10 finish at Salem. Hudson also eyes his second career ARCA pole at the demanding half-mile short track.

“It’s Salem and I’m back,” said Hudson, who will make his eighth career start at the Southern Indiana race track. “It’s not a surprise that this is my favorite race track in the world and I’ve done everything here except win a race. We’re hoping to change that statistic this weekend.”

He continued, “we had a good car last Spring but were wiped up in the “big one” and that was the end of that. We rebounded back with a sixth place run last September. We’ve come so close to winning here, we could taste it; but we’re going to try again on Sunday.”

Some drivers are afraid of Salem’s wrath. Some drivers even distaste its characteristics but Hudson has been able to conquer most of its mean steak, so far.

“Salem is a place you have to respect in order to conquer it,” Hudson admits. “It’s a track that makes you a better driver in the long run not to mention the races there are great. You can afford to get banged up here and still race competitively. A little rubbing never hurts anyone but it’s the sluggish driving of others that could ruin your day. That’s what we hope to avoid.”

Hudson whose average finish at Salem is 12th continued, “We went and tested there last week and were pretty good. The weather was crappy but we were able to get a couple decent hours of testing in. The car responded well to changes, so I was pretty tickled. Jared (Bartlett, crew chief) and I know what we both want in the car, so hopefully we’ll be able to continue our successful pace on Sunday.”

The BHM team will host Hudson Machine Shop, G&A Trucking, Double H Hydraulics and Warrick Tubing as sponsors this weekend at Salem Speedway.

“It’s a tough time out there right now and we know that, so to have the support and friendship that we do with our sponsors, we’re extremely grateful and appreciative,” Hudson explained. “Hopefully we can deliver Sunday.”

As for the remainder of the 2009 season, Hudson admits, it’s up in the air.

“It’s sketchy right now but right now we’re focusing on Salem this weekend. We’re going to get through it and regroup and hope to run a couple more races this year.”

Additional sponsorship opportunities are still available for this weekend’s activities. Interested parties are encouraged to contact Lisa Hudson of Brett Hudson Motorsports at 270.929.2160 or hudson00@adelphia.net.
