ARCA RE/MAX Series Race No. 17, Governor’s Cup 200 The Milwaukee Mile, West Allis , Wisconsin

Race Information: Event: Governor’s Cup 200, Sunday, August 26 at 12:00 p.m. Local Time Track: The Milwaukee Mile Qualifying: Saturday, August 25 at 5:15 p.m. Local Time Track Length: 1.0-mile paved oval.

Illinois State Fairgrounds Recap: ARCA RE/MAX Series rookie Dominick Casola showed strength in his ARCA dirt track debut after rallying through the field from his 15th place starting position to stay in contention with the lead pack to score a respectable 13th place finish last Sunday.

Welcome To Wisconsin : The 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series season has proven to be a learning year for Dominick Casola. He will take another stepping stone in that category by participating in his first ARCA event at the famed Milwaukee Mile for Sunday’s Governor’s Cup 200.

Andy Belmont Playing Double-Duty At The Magic Mile: With car owner and sidekick Jennifer Belmont MIA (Missing in Action) this weekend at The Milwaukee Mile, crew chief Andy Belmont will take the responsibility of pulling double duty as both crew chief and spotter for the Governor’s Cup 200.

It Has Its Advantages: Dominick Casola boasts that his success in the ARCA RE/MAX Series can be attributed to the new ARCA SIM Factory video game that is expected to be release September 1st. Casola, is one of several drivers who plays the personal computer (PC) game to further familiarize himself with the diverse number of tracks the series competes on.

Watcha Haulin?: Crew Chief Andy Belmont has elected to bring Casola “Nemesis” to The Milwaukee Mile this weekend. This is a new Ford Fusion to rookie driver Dominick Casola. The car has a long-standing record in the Andy Belmont Racing stables, but this will be the first race that the Holmdel, New Jersey native will pilot this chassis this season. The team’s backup machine is nicknamed “Big Bird”.

Point Standings: Competing in 15 of the 16 races on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule, Casola sits 16th in the championship standings. 95 points separate Casola from overtaking the 15th position from rookie and fellow competitor Gabi DiCarlo. Casola for the third straight week picked up ground on his mission to enter the top-15. With his 13th place finish last Sunday, Casola gained 25 markers on his fellow rookie competitor.

A Change In The Car Owner Standings: Thanks to his solid finish last weekend at Illinois State Fairgrounds, Dominick Casola propelled car owner Jennifer Belmont to rise from 15th to 14th in the ARCA RE/MAX Series car owner standings. Belmont now sits 135 points from 13th currently held by two-time ARCA RE/MAX Series champion Andy Hillenburg.

Not A Bad Stat: Casola has accelerated past four drivers who have attempted all 16 ARCA RE/MAX Series events this season. Two of the four drivers have competed in every event this season. Casola joined the tour in the second race of the year at USA International Speedway and has since steadily and competitively inched his way through the standings hoping to maneuver inside the top-12 by the last event of the season at Toledo Speedway in October.

Andy Belmont Racing, The Milwaukee Mile Pre-Race Quotes:

Dominick Casola, driver of the No. 1 A. Casola Farms Ford:

On Illinois State Fairgrounds: “You know, I wasn’t really sure what to expect as we headed into the dirt race. I had a lot of fun and we had a good car. The race was good practice for the upcoming race at DuQuoin. I really think what I learned in Springfield will help us run in the top-10 on Labor Day.”

On The Milwaukee Mile: “The Milwaukee Mile carries a lot of history and I’m very excited that I’m competing in Sunday’s Governor’s Cup 200. Our finishes have been really strong lately and I’m looking forward to continuing that trend on Sunday.”

On The Points Race: “Slowly but surely, we’re gaining ground. I have a good feeling about the next couple of races and if we keep doing what we’re doing, we should be in the top-15 very soon. I really think, if we can gain a top-five or a couple top-10s, the top-12 in the championship standings is still within our reach.”

On Recent Momentum: “Anytime you can go into a race with some momentum it’s helpful. I think has a team we’ve improved tremendously since Lakeland . My communication is better with Andy and it’s showing with our finishes. I would like to keep our streak going and grab a top-10 finish for my team and sponsor Sunday.”
