“Wisconsin Native Searching For First Victory This Weekend”

LEBANON, Tennessee (Wednesday, August 8, 2007) - - After notching another top-10 performance at Pocono Raceway last Saturday, ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS) driver Dexter Bean returns to Nashville Superspeedway looking to better his ninth place run in April. More importantly, Bean aims to net his first career victory Saturday afternoon.

Bean has shown incredible strength this season. Inching his way into third in the championship standings, Bean sits just 155 markers from taking the lead from eight time ARS champion Frank Kimmel. With the season beginning to wind down, Bean knows that a race like Nashville could play a huge role in the outcome of the championship.

“Races like Pocono and Nashville are crucial for the point’s race,” said Bean, a native of Westby , Wisconsin . “We had a good run last weekend and we were able to gain some ground in the standings and that’s great. The race at Nashville Superspeedway this weekend will be strong and competitive, but we have to keep doing what we are doing and that’s finishing races.”

The BlackJack Racing team will bring the same Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS the team competed with at Pocono Raceway last Saturday. Bean collected his third top-10 finish at the 2.5-mile triangle track in four starts. The car has proven time and time again to be one of the best in the fleet. It’s also the same automobile the team roared to a ninth place finish with this April after starting 24th.

The team is hoping there streak of superb runs with this car will continue in Saturday’s TOYOTA ARCA 150.

“This is a great car,” added Bean. “The car will react to anything we do with it and that’s one of the crucial components in having a successful race. My crew chief Chris Bires is bringing a great setup to the track this weekend and I think we’ll roll off the truck stronger than we did in April.”

A good reason why Bean is confident that he’ll be competitive this weekend is the team is utilizing the same motor the team ran with at Pocono Raceway in June. In that race, Bean led the most laps and thundered to a second place run, tying a career best finish in ARCA.

“We’re bringing the same car we ran here in April and we’ve freshened the motor from the spring Pocono race and it’s probably the strongest engine in our fleet. This motor is a lot stronger than the one we had in the spring which should pay dividends to us. We’re taking every step to make sure that we’re ahead of the game on Friday and Saturday.”

While being in contention for the championship is big for the sophomore ARCA team, Bean also comes to Nashville hunting the coveted Gibson guitar as the trophy of the TOYOTA ARCA 150.

“The trophies they give away at Nashville are incredible,” explained Bean. “They are very unique and have a sentimental value to not only to the city, but the track in itself. I really would like to walk away from Nashville with my first win and that guitar.”

While BlackJack Racing is still searching for additional sponsorship of Bean's No. 6 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, the team is glad to have local longtime supporter Five Star Telecom on board as an associate sponsor.

Since their beginning in 1973, FST (Five Star Telecom), a long-time supporter of Bean's racing career has become one of the largest interconnect companies in the Upper Midwest , with multiple locations serving the tri-state area.

Rolling into Nashville, Dexter Bean has 41 ARCA RE/MAX Series starts to his credit with four-top fives finishes and 12 top-10 efforts. He holds a career best finish of second at Salem Speedway and Pocono Raceway (April 2007 and June 2007). He owns the 2006 ARCA SIM Factory pole award at Salem Speedway (September) while hoisting a career-best speedway time trials effort of fourth at Pocono Raceway (June 2006). Bean also has controlled the ARCA field for 138 laps in six races.

BlackJack Racing is still seeking additional primary and associate sponsors for the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series season. For sponsorship inquiries, please contact BlackJack Racing at david@mwt.net or 608.634.4242.

The TOYOTA ARCA 150 (113 laps/150 miles) is the 15 of 23 races on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The 14th ARCA race held at Nashville Superspeedway is a two-day show.
