TALLADEGA, Alabama (October 8, 2007) - - Stott Classic Racing car owner Corrie Stott offered the following statement following driver Billy Tanner’s inexcusable comments live on SPEED following Friday’s ARCA RE/MAX 250, the 22nd race of the 2007 season.

“I am deeply sorry to our sponsors, friends, fans and affiliates on Billy’s comments during the ARCA RE/MAX Series 250 on Friday afternoon. I do not condone what he said on national television and I would like to offer to everyone that we have spoken to him at great length about his actions. Michael McDowell is a great driver. I also have the up most respect for Eddie Sharp Racing. The incident was a situation where Michael (McDowell) lost a tire and we were swept up into the accident. Just wrong time, wrong place for us. I am extremely proud of my team for their efforts at Talladega last weekend and I again apologize to everyone for Billy’s actions.”

Tanner made his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut at Talladega Superspeedway after qualifying 26th. After quickly moving through the field, Tanner hovered inside the top-15 for much of the first half of the event.

After making their second pit stop of the event, Tanner along with many of his other competitors were making their dash back to the front before McDowell lost a tire sending his uncontrollable machine into another competitor and directly into the path of Tanner. The extensive damage of the No. 07 CheapCaribbean.com forced the Stott Classic Racing team to exit the event.

Tanner and the organization would be credited with a 36th place finish.

Stott Classic Racing will announce their plans for 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series season at a later date.
