St. Petersburg, FL – In his first ever Firestone Indy Lights race, Troy Castaneda achieved a top ten finish for Bryan Herta Autosport in the Series season opener on Saturday afternoon.

Driving the #28 car, featuring sponsorship from Forsythe Solutions Group, EMC, Barracuda Networks, and Bariani Olive Oil, Castaneda finished in ninth place and gained some great experience on the track.

“It was actually really fun,” Castaneda said about his first race. “The cars are pretty physical, especially here on the street course, so you have to stay focused physically and mentally 100 percent of the time. It was definitely a good learning experience and I was able to finish in the top ten, so I’m pretty happy about that. The car came back in one piece and I had a good little battle for eighth place as well, so hopefully we can move forward with this for the next race.”

“The St. Pete Grand Prix has become a staple event for us and this year’s was the best one yet,” said David Fisher, EVP of Sales & Marketing at Forsythe Solutions Group. “Forsythe is honored to be part of the team of companies helping sponsor drivers from Bryan Herta Autosport. We were all very pleased to see Troy come home with a great finish in his first race in Indy Lights.”

The 40-lap Firestone Indy Lights race at Barber Motorsports Park will take place on Sunday, April 1 at 11:15 a.m. Fans can catch all the action on NBC Sports.
