CHARLOTTE, NC (March 13, 2013) They say in racing that you make your own luck, or you need luck to win. This weekend Garrett Marchant, driver of the Lone Star Car Transportation / @WalgreensCVAZ / AFG Home Improvements / Kim’s Sweet Sensations 77 Chevy Charger, hopes to make some of his own luck and drive his car to victory lane. Marchant is looking for his first win of the season after getting 2013 off to a rough start two weeks ago.

This weekend’s St. Patrick’s Day 285 at Southern National Motorsports Park will feature Marchant running in the 35 lap charger race which will be run during the day. Since the last time the No. 77 was on the track, the BMR Motorsports team was able to take the car back to the shop and figure out what went wrong at Marchant’s first race.

“Something was messed up with the ignition and it looks like the tachometer was also part of the problem,” Marchant explained about the No. 77. “We showed flashes of excellence in the first race of the year. Unfortunately I did not get to finish the race because of electrical issues.”

Garrett Marchant continued to go on and said, “I am looking forward to practicing this weekend and getting the car dialed in. My crew chief, Mark and I, talked this week and he said that our season didn’t start last week, it starts this week.”

Last Lap Marketing will once again be at the track this weekend too to help Marchant with his marketing and public relations. Fans will be able to stop by the GMR booth, conveniently located near the entrance, to pre-order their 2013 shirts which are 100% Made in the US. If you are unable to attend the race this weekend, you can go ahead and pre-order your shirt by visiting: http://bit.ly/YZ0fqR.
