Subject: Awesome Pictures!

Hello Bill,

I was browsing pictures of 1970 Buick GS Stage 1's and stumbled onto you website. Very nice website!

You have a few pictures that interest me a great amount and I was curious if you had any more. They were of two 1970 GS Stage 2's, "Light Your Fire" and "Reynolds Buick" and the link is http://www.carsandracingstuff.com/library/s/skylark_photos01.php

If you have any more pictures or have any idea where I could find more, I would appreciate it very much because I've been searching the web for atleast two hours now looking for more pictures of these cars. I'm googled out!

Thanks a lot and if assistance can be provided I'd be happy to donate to your website.

Hello Mike,

Thank you very much for the compliments. I publish just about everything I can from my personal collection, so I don't have any more at home. But I did find this online:

http://www.mcacn.com/press/4.htm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick_Gran_Sport#Gran_Sport_455
"There is little documentation about the 12 Stage 2 cars that were sold. One was campaigned by Kenne-Bell/Reynolds Buick and the other was known as the Jones-Benisek car. The Jones/Benisek car is known to have been delivered as a Stage 1 car with all the Stage 2 components in the trunk in GM boxes."

The first car is hard to look up by "Light Your Fire" because of the marketing campaign by Buick in 1970. But if you look it up by Jones & Benisek some things come up. Not much, but some.

Great shot of the Reynolds Buick from back in the day...

I've spent a bit of time learning the tricks of Google and finding old drag cars on it. A friend, Jim Brooks, used to race with Jack Thompson with the Chicagoland Dodge Boys. One night he told me they had found three out of four of their old cars and had been looking for years for I think it was a '65 Dart. I wanted to Google some pictures of the car for him when I got home, instead I found the actual car in about 10 minutes!

Hope this helps!
