“Brewco Motorsports Hoping To Defend Title On Friday Night”

SPARTA, Kentucky (July 11, 2007) - - If there is one race on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule that the Brewco Motorsports team circled on their calendar, it would have to be Friday’s WLWT Channel 5-150. While everyone race is critical for the team and rookie driver Phillip McGilton, the team is concentrating their efforts on this week’s race as the Kentucky-based team looks to defend their win from 2006.

Last season, Brewco Motorsports who sits sixth in the championship standings in their first full season of ARCA competition took another rookie, Brad Coleman to his first ARS victory under the lights. With consistent finishes of the norm for the team, they are hoping things go just as planned and the duo can bring home their first victory of the season under the Kentucky lights.

“Everyone on the Brewco Motorsports team is looking forward to Friday night,” said driver Phillip McGilton. “And we have every reason to be. The team has run exceptionally well at Kentucky Speedway in the past and we’re expecting to give no mercy on Friday night. I know how special it would be for this team to win two races at Kentucky and I’m going to do everything I can to make that happen.”

Fresh off a 14th place run at Berlin Raceway last week, McGilton is looking forward to several weeks of speedway racing as the rookie tries to advance himself further in the standings as the second half of the season progresses forward.

“Short track racing has been fun, but I’m really looking forward to competing back on the bigger tracks. We’ve run well everywhere this season, just haven’t had all the finishes we deserved. We’re looking as a team to make a major impact in the second half and a strong run on Friday night will kick things off in the right direction.”

In May’s Buckle-Up Kentucky 150, McGilton started third and finished eighth. Bringing the additional experience that McGilton and his team gathered since the spring race, the team feels they should have a setup which will be beneficial in both qualifying and the race.

“The team has a whole has learned a lot,” continued McGilton. “We learned a lot in the race in May, we learned a lot with the test a couple weeks ago. I think we’ve learned enough that everything should fall into place on Friday night and we should be celebrating our first win of the season.”

The WLWT Channel 5-150 (100 laps/150 miles) is the 13 of 23 races on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The 13th ARCA race held at Kentucky Speedway is a one-day show. Practice begins Friday, July 13 with a two hour and 15 minute (11:30am-1:45pm) session planned. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying is set for later in the day at 4:30pm Local Time. The event will take the green flag shortly after 8:00pm Local Time with live coverage on SPEED. Additional race coverage can be found online at arcaracing.com
