Carjacking Suspect 2002 Saturn
INDIANAPOLIS—Michael S. Welch, Special Agent in Charge of the Indianapolis Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying an individual responsible for carjacking a 21-year-old female from the Columbus, Ohio area and forcing her to travel into Indiana.

At approximately 11:00 a.m., June 17, 2009, a 21-year-old white female from the Columbus, Ohio, area, was driving a 2002 four-door Saturn, silver in color, bearing Ohio license plates, when she was stopped or approached by an unknown male who forced his way into her vehicle. The unknown individual displayed a small dark colored revolver and ordered the female to drive towards Interstate 70. The victim was forced to travel east on Interstate 70 into Indiana. At approximately 4:15 p.m., her vehicle experienced mechanical problems on Old Fort Harrison Road in Seelyville, Indiana, which is just east of Terre Haute, Indiana, in Vigo County. The subject demanded the victim lock the keys in the car and exit the vehicle. The subject then fled the area on foot heading toward Main Street. The victim then contacted law enforcement resulting in a response by the Terre Haute Police Department, the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police.

The unknown carjacker is described as a white male, 35 – 40 years of age, thin build, clean shaven with fair complexion, 5’6” to 5’10” tall, with dyed black hair and dark eyes. The subject was last seen wearing light colored blue jeans, white v-neck t-shirt, and brown flip flop sandals. He was carrying a small dark colored revolver.

Anyone with information concerning this matter is requested to contact the FBI Indianapolis Office at 317-639-3301.
