CONCORD, North Carolina (December 5, 2013) - - After embarking on a stellar 2013 season on the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards tour, Josh Williams Motorsports (JWM) is actively seeking for a funded driver(s) to take the reins of the team’s No. 02 Ford Fusion at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway later this month.

Currently, the Concord, North Carolina-based team has seating available for the three-day ARCA open test scheduled for Friday, December 20 through Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the 2.5-mile superspeedway. The team’s primary driver, Josh Williams will also be on-hand to shake down the automobile, while serve as a driver coach and consultant during the three-day session.

The veteran ARCA team has also leased a Roush Yates FR-9 engine for the impending test to give renters the firm affirmation of the type of horsepower that is also available for next year’s ARCA season-opener, the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 set for Saturday, February 15, 2014, pending approval.

“We want to have a presence in ARCA, but we’re looking at other options for Josh next season in other series, so we decided to open up the seat for the upcoming test at Daytona,” said Kevin Williams, co-car owner of JWM. “We’re extremely proud of our accomplishments this season. Without the support and dedication of our team, this year’s success would not have been possible.”

In the two restrictor-plates races this year, the team started off the year with a respectable 15th place performance at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, before maneuvering a strong sixth place run at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway in April, which included 14 laps led. Additionally, Williams, a native of Port Charlotte, Florida scored his first top-five finish of his ARCA career this July at Chicagoland Speedway, where he recorded a runner-up finish.

Competing against some well-funded teams, JWM also finished fourth in the Hoosier Superspeedway Challenge, a special-awards platform earning 1,205 points.

“Our restrictor plate program is very important to us,” noted Josh Williams, who finished fifth in the final championship series standings. “We’ve taken the time to finesse our car and we feel we’ve made it even better since Talladega. The car can run by itself, while run competitively in the draft, the true factor to restrictor plate racing. The upside to pairing with JWM for the test would be exclusive hands-on experience with us and Roush Yates Engines as well.”

Barry Owen, a six-time winning crew chief and owner at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway will oversee the team’s operation for the test.

Several testing packages are available for JWM in three weeks. Interested parties should contact Josh Williams at 704.721.3983 or 941.628.3696 or Kevin Williams directly at 941.628.9362 or by email at kwtcm@aol.com for further details.

Williams, 20, who scored one top-five, 10 top-10 finishes and 28 laps led in his breakout season of ARCA competition will be honored for his accomplishments at the annual ARCA Racing Series championship awards banquet set for next Saturday, December 14 in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Indiana Convention Center.
