Run Over by a Truck and Killed.

The New York Times
March 15, 1900

Michael Burke, fifty-five years old, of 60 West One Hundredth Street, was run over and killed by a heavy truck at One Hundred and Fifty-sixth Street and Eighth Avenue yesterday afternoon.  Burke had been riding on the front seat of the truck in company with the driver, Henry Bollman.  According to the story told by Bollman, who was locked up in the West One Hundred and Fifty-second Street Police Station, Burke fell accidentally from the seat directly in the path of the front wheels, which passed over his chest before the driver could stop the truck.
