MARYLAND BARS DISPLAY OF 1923 TAG

Washington Times
December 29, 1922

MT. RAINIER, Md., Dec. 29.—State Road Officer D. F. Bowman, who has been stationed in Brentwood, Mt. Rainier and Hyattsville to prevent violations of the State automobile laws, announced last night that all State officers had orders to arrest motorists who displayed their 1923 Maryland tags before Monday, January 1. Under the Maryland law, these tags cannot be used until the first of the year. The District of Columbia permits the displaying of 1923 tags prior to the new year.
