Saudi Embassy Cars Vandalized in Greece

Saudi Embassy Cars Vandalized in Greece

VOA News
April 15, 2008

Greek police say a car belonging to the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Athens was damaged Tuesday by suspected anarchists.

The pre-dawn arson attack is the second targeting of a Saudi Embassy vehicle in two days. No injuries or arrests have been reported.

Police say in both attacks the arsonists placed lighted gas canisters under the cars.

A group calling itself the Subversive Cell claimed responsibility for Monday's attack.

Self-styled anarchist groups upset with the government often set off small bombs outside banks, offices and official cars in the Athens area.

Some information for this report was provided by AFP and AP.
