Illinois Vehicle Registration

Oh, the humor in it... (I'm not laughing.)

You may not know it yet, but the cost of getting your renewal tag for your gas buggy went up last year. So don't be shocked when you open the greetings from Jesse White and find out that it'll cost you $99.00 for that little almost-square tag that you are supposed to stick on in the upper-right corner of the rear license plate on your chariot.

Why do I write about this?

Because the sample Renewal Form on the Secretary of State's website (http://www.ilsos.net/; must easier to type than http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/) shows a $91.00 fee. (Click on the image to enlarge it; then click on the Back button on your browser to come back here.)

Wasn't there enough money for the programmer to make it $99.00, instead of $91.00?

Can you renew online and save $8.00? (No.)
