The event will also include first-and second-round qualifying on Saturday, May 3rd, with a happy hour to follow Saturday afternoon. The race is scheduled to roll off at 12-noon local time Sunday afternoon.

SHELTRA: (ON COMPETING AT ROCKINGHAM SPEEDWAY IN 2008) “This is going to be a welcomed event for the ARCA RE/MAX Series. I’m looking forward to competing at Rockingham Speedway. I’ve watched the NASCAR races in the past and now the opportunity has been presented to bring the ARCA RE/MAX Series to the legendary track and everyone is excited about it.”

SHELTRA: (ON THE THREE DAY SHOW CONSISTING OF PRACTICE, QUALIFYING, HAPPY HOUR AND THE RACE) “I don’t mind a three-day show. ARCA and Rockingham Speedway officials are giving us plenty of time to get accustomed to the track and I think they will see it pay off enormously in the race.”

SHELTRA: (ON HIS FIRST 300-MILE/500K EVENT IN THE ARCA RE/MAX SERIES) ”This is going to be a new challenge for the ARCA RE/MAX Series. It’s a whole new ball game. The race is going to be tough, there’s no hiding behind that. However, I’m going to take some extra steps to make sure that I’m in the best physical shape to be able to conquer a race of that magnitude. The team is going to make sure we’re prepared for the unexpected we might experience during the event.”

SHELTRA: (ON A 50-CAR STARTING FIELD) “That is really cool and something that the ARCA RE/MAX Series can claim to fame. The way that the track has everything structured, it has the potential to be one of the best races of the 2008 season and everyone at Sheltra Motorsports along with our sponsors are hoping to walk away with the first 500-miler ARCA victory at the new Rockingham Speedway!”

SHELTRA: (ON THE TRACK BEING OWNED BY A FORMER ARCA CHAMPION AND ALSO A CURRENT CAR OWNER IN THE ARCA RE/MAX SERIES) “Andy Hillenburg is a great guy. He has done a lot for the ARCA RE/MAX Series and with the addition of the race to the 2008 ARCA schedule it only shows how committed he truly is to the series. I want to thank Andy for bringing Rockingham Speedway to the ARCA RE/MAX Series and know that everyone on the Sheltra Motorsports supports him 100 percent.”
