How To Plan The Perfect Motorcycle Road Trip With Your Buddies

There's something very compelling about cowboy movies, at least for guys. The idea of getting together with your most trusted friends and hitting the trail for several days at a time. Riding your horses, and making camp wherever you feel like it. Nothing but you and the outdoors. Just watching such movies can put you into a special state of relaxation and comfort.

It's no wonder then that so many guys these days enjoy going on motorcycle trips. It can feel almost the same way, provided you can get yourself out and away from the city. Driving around on the congested highways and freeways isn't fun for anybody, no matter what kind of car you're driving in.

So if you've got some buddies and some bikes, and you're planning a trip, you'll need to make sure you've got several elements covered. This can make the difference between an enjoyable vacation that you'll remember forever and a night in jail that will haunt you the rest of your life. The good news is that it's to distinguish the two.

The first thing to be aware of is all the local laws where you'll be going. You won't be able to just pull over and camp out, unless you really are in the middle of nowhere. Check ahead of time, as you might need to get permits and things like that. If you're going places where they'll be other campers of the non-motorcycle variety, then take care to not disturb them. Many people have learned from movies that all guys riding motorcycles are crazed killers who will happily murder you in your sleep. You must take great care not to promote this image.

You'll also need to have proper camping gear. You might think it's OK to just plop down on the ground and fall asleep, but you've got to take the weather into consideration. There's plenty of water proof tents and gear that will make your trip a lot more enjoyable.

Of course, you'll need to plan your route. Driving around and just stopping wherever may seem like a good idea, but when you find out there's no acceptable place to camp, no food, and no water, then you'll wish you had planned ahead.

All in all, it's easy to have a good trip that will give you that good cowboy feel. You'll just have to take the time to plan it out, so you can make sure you have a good time.
