SCOTT MCLAUGHLIN TO GET MAIN GAME MILES

Stone Brothers Racing
August 17, 2011

Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series racer Scott McLaughlin will get his first taste of an official ‘main game’ session when he straps himself into Shane van Gisbergen’s #9 SP Tools Racing Falcon for this Friday’s practice sessions at Queensland Raceway.

Touted as SBR’s ‘next big thing’ – McLaughlin will fill the seat normally kept warm by van Gisbergen’s enduro partner John McIntyre, who due to family health reasons is unable to attend this weekend’s event.

“I’m pretty excited about this opportunity - I’m just thankful to Shane for letting me in his car,” McLaughlin said.

“It really came out of the blue – I walked into the workshop this morning and Paul (Forgie – Engineer for #9) came up and asked if I’d like to have a run this weekend … obviously something I’m not going to say no too!” he added.

“Any extra seat time you can grab prior to an event is always a bonus and will definitely help my DVS campaign this weekend – and to be doing it in one of the best cars in the Championship is pretty cool.”

McLaughlin will be a busy man on Friday, starting the morning with a 40-minute practice session in his #93 Fujitsu-backed DVS Falcon, before swapping over to the #9 SP Tools Racing Falcon for two 30-minute stints, and then back into his DVS Falcon for another 40-minute session in the afternoon.
