DAYTONA BEACH, FL - ISCARS wishes to congratulate Newport Speedway on joining the ASA member tracks program.

ISCARS will visit Newport Speedway on Saturday, September 17th for the first time in series history.

NEWPORT MOTOR SPEEDWAY EXCITED TO BE PART OF THE ASA MEMBER TRACK PROGRAM

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Thursday, April 14, 2011) - East of Knoxville and north of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park lies Newport Motor Speedway in Newport, TN. The 4/10-mile asphalt track, that hosts some of the best short track racing in the Smoky Mountains area, will be competing under the ASA Member Track banner.

"This is very exciting for everyone at Newport Motor Speedway," Ron Crane, General Manager said. "We are looking forward to working with everyone at ASA and being a part of their National Championship for our drivers. I think all of our competitors will enjoy being part of the ASA family."

"Newport Motor Speedway provides some of the classic Saturday night short track action that is very well known in auto racing. Newport also has very affordable pricing for the entire family to come out and enjoy their racing action. We are looking forward to helping them promote their racing action and local heroes to our national audience."

Newport Motor Speedway became an asphalt track in 1988. They cater to the competitors and fans who live in Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina. It is a 4/10-mile oval with 26' of banking in the turns. The grandstands are concrete, and they do allow folding chairs. They also have tailgating parking around the turns.

Super Late Models, Newport Late Models, Limited Sportsman, Street Stocks, Front Wheel Drives, Modified 4's, Legends and Mini Cups are their featured weekly divisions at Newport. They will also welcome many different Touring Series throughout the season as well, such as the ISCARS DASH Touring Sanctioned by ASA, Pro All Stars Series (PASS), United Auto Racing Association (UARA), ARCA Truck Series and Rolling Thunder Modifieds.

The Newport Late Model division will also be competing for the Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil ASA Member Track National Championship this season. The 2011 National Champion will receive a tryout with Joe Gibbs Racing.

Newport will be opening their 2011 season this Saturday with the UARA Stars, Street Stocks, Front Wheel Drives, and Legends. Their website is www.newportmotorspeedway.com.
