DAYTONA BEACH, FL - What began as a small NASCAR Sanctioned series in 1975 (NASCAR DASH) and grew to a regular support series on many of the speedways east of the Mississippi, began to struggle with its identity in the late nineties and early into the new century. ISCARS breathed life into the series in 2005 and is now breaking new ground with a modern brand and current technology.

“You heard it first here,” states ISCARS President/CEO Randy Claypoole. “We are America’s Premiere Stock Car Tuner Series.”

Claypoole has long believed that the series needed to embrace the Sport Compact image popularized by the Fast and Furious movies which featured Sport Compact Tuners drag racing and drifting.

“Trying to re-brand is something that takes time. We have been at this now for six years and have slowly updated the series with a modern, Sport Compact – Tuner style appearance,” says Claypoole

The new body style was unveiled and first put into use in 2010 along with the first ever four cylinder fuel injected power plant, which happens to be a Honda engine.

Some teams still use the V6 engine passed down from NASCAR’s Nationwide Series in the late nineties. “Progress takes time,” states Claypoole. “We have been asking teams to spend money during a difficult economic environment, but they have responded with tremendous enthusiasm which I believe places us ahead of the curve for when the economy improves. First up was the new body, and now we are working with manufacturers, their engineers and preferred engine builders to institute and promote the engines and car brands they are taking to market.”

ISCARS is in the midst of an aggressive re-branding advertising campaign to promote the 2011 schedule of twelve races at six different venues in an effort to set a new trend in the auto racing community.

“One of our main goals is to bring a modern and unique product to the local racing venues,” adds Claypoole. “Our emphasis in 2011 will be two races in one night that are packed with racing excitement.”

In the ads titled, “Look Who’s Trending Now”, ISCARS uses modern slang such as “One sick stock car tuner series” and “drivers balz to the wall.”

“We are out to expand our reach to a younger generation that is excited by edgy, pop, zing, cool cars, drivers with personality and a product that mirrors the sport compact tuners they drive on the street.”

International Sport Compact Auto Racing Series (ISCARS), Sanctioned by the American Speed Association (ASA), has released a twelve race schedule which currently includes stops at Dillon Motor Speedway (SC), Ace Speedway (NC), Newport Speedway (TN), Watermelon Capital Speedway (GA) and Hickory Motor Speedway (NC). The series has one date in August to fill. Interested tracks should contact ISCARS directly.
