ARCA RE/MAX Series Race No. 7, Buckle-Up Kentucky 150
Kentucky Speedway, Sparta , Kentucky

Race Information: Event: Buckle-Up Kentucky 150, Saturday, May 12 at 8:00 p.m. Local Time Track: Kentucky Speedway Qualifying: Saturday, May 12 at 4:00 p.m. Local Time; Track Length: 1.5-mile paved oval.

Winchester Recap: After qualifying inside the top-three for the second time in three weeks, Dexter Bean made his second run at Winchester Speedway from the third position. It was an eventful third short track event for the sophomore driver. After being involved in some race carnage Bean maneuvered a solid eighth place finish, his fourth consecutive top-10 performance this season.

On A Roll: BlackJack Racing and Dexter Bean hope to continue to set new personal records this weekend at Kentucky Speedway. Since Nashville (April), the team has finished inside the top-10 for the last four races. Ninth at Nashville Superspeedway, second at Salem Speedway, 10th at Kansas Speedway and eighth last Sunday afternoon at Winchester Speedway succeed the team’s previous personal record of three top-10 finishes in a row set late last year. The results have also kept the organization tight in the points chase sitting third heading into the first of two events at Kentucky Speedway this season.

Looking Back: Bean heads into the seventh race of the season with mixed feelings about Kentucky Speedway. While the driver likes the Northern-Kentucky based track, it’s the results that has the competitor feeling iffy. Last spring, Bean started 10th before finishing a very respectable 12th. Looking to better that performance in the summer, Bean started 17th and was quickly on the move before a lap-car struck the No. 6 sending him careening into the wall and collecting a 38th place finish.

Points Chase: With another consistent run under his belt last Sunday at Winchester Speedway, Bean maintained third in the point standings just five points from second place Justin Allgaier and only 45 markers from the points lead now held by reigning ARCA champion Frank Kimmel.

Chassis Information: The BlackJack Racing team will unload this weekend the same Chevrolet Monte Carlo the team placed ninth at Nashville (April) and 10th two weeks ago at Kansas Speedway. This is the same automobile the team competed with at both Kentucky Speedway events last year. The car is also responsible for Bean’s best career performances of fourth at Pocono Raceway and Chicagoland Speedway last season.

Welcome Back: Five Star Telecom, a longtime racing supporter of BlackJack Racing will step up and return as an associate sponsor this weekend at Kansas . Since their beginning in 1973, FST (Five Star Telecom), a long-time supporter of Bean’s racing career has become one of the largest interconnect companies in the Upper Midwest , with multiple locations serving the tri-state area.

Sponsorship Search Continues: BlackJack Racing still has several openings on their No. 6 Chevrolet Monte Carlo for the seventh event on the ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. Immediate one race or long term sponsorship positions are available. Contact the team today and be a part of the action.

BlackJack Racing, Kentucky Speedway Pre-Race Quotes:
Dexter Bean, driver of the No. 6 Five Star Telecom Chevrolet Monte Carlo :

On Winchester : “I have mixed feelings about last weekend. We had a good car, got entangled in an early accident that should not of happened and had some more problems during the day but still ended up with a top-10 finish, a long day but a good one nonetheless.”

On Kentucky Speedway : “I am looking forward to this weekend. I like racing at Kentucky Speedway. The racing is always fast and competitive and that’s the way I like it. We should be quick this weekend; I’m looking forward to Saturday.”

On The Tight Points Race: “Justin (Allgaier) had some problems last weekend and it really closed up the points lead. It’s going to be a fierce battle all year long. You can’t let one bad race stick to you or you’re going to find yourself digging out of a hole you might not be able to get out of. We’re just taking it race-by-race and planning to bring our best each week.”

On The Stretch Of Consecutive Top-10s: “We set a new team record last weekend. It was pretty cool. We’ve been running well this season, a lot better than we did last year and it’s showing. We would like a win this weekend; everything just has to fall in place like it has been all season long.”
