Fast Track Racing Picks Up New Logos For Short Track Thriller

TOLEDO, Ohio (May 17, 2007) - - The last month hasn’t gone the way that ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS) Rookie-of-the-Year candidate Bryan Silas would have liked, but sometimes racing delivers a string of bad luck. Silas hopes he’s paid his dues and looks to put his Fast Track Racing back in the top-10 where it belongs this Sunday for the Hantz Group 200 by Federated Auto Care.

Silas has looked strong on the short tracks this year with two top-10 finishes at USA International Speedway ( Lakeland ) and Salem Speedway respectively. He appeared to be heading towards another great finish two weeks ago at Winchester Speedway but a late race incident spoiled his top-five run. Now, the Florida native returns to Toledo Speedway, a track he is familiar with and plans to deliver a finish bettering his 16th place finish Toledo run last September.

“It’s good to be going to a short track that I have some familiarity with,” said Silas. “My guys have given me great equipment all year long on the short tracks and this weekend should be no exception. I know that I’m going to be sitting in a lot better equipment this time around so I’m really looking forward to Sunday’s event.”

Toledo won’t be the only race that Silas is focusing on. Before heading to Ohio , Silas heads to Concord , North Carolina planning to participate in Friday night’s Quaker Steak & Lube 200 in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Should Silas qualify his way into the grid, he will make his second NCTS career start. Silas made his debut in the double-header weekend last month at Kansas Speedway with satisfying results.

“I’m excited about the truck race, but many people don’t know that this race will help me in Toledo this weekend. The more seat time I can deliver the better driver I am becoming. It will help me on Sunday at Toledo ; I’m focused on racing hard this weekend. Hopefully we can bring home the results that everyone will be satisfied with.”

Nortrax, Shell Rotella T, Holland Pump and Palm Beach Grading (PBG) will all sponsor the No. 11 Chevrolet in the 61st ARS event held at Toledo Speedway.

In addition to their normal sponsors, the team is also pleased to have local supporters CoZmedic Surgery Associates and Hair Loss Treatment Centers sporting their logos on Silas’s Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the eighth ARCA event this season.

CoZmedic Surgery Associates and Hair Loss Treatment Centers are consulting companies that manage plastic surgeon’s practices. They perform the “business” side of the occupation so the Surgeon can do what he or she likes and perform the medical side of the vocation.

“We have a great sponsor lineup this weekend,” sounded Silas. “Our normal sponsors are ready to go and we’re extremely happy to have CoZmedic Surgery Associates onboard. They are new to the ARCA RE/MAX Series and I don’t think they could have picked a better race to come on board for. The race is going to be live on television, so we’re hoping to drum up some exposure too.”

Heading into Toledo, Silas has 13 ARCA RE/MAX Series starts to his credit with a career best finish of eighth at Salem Speedway (April 2007) while holding an additional top-10 performance at USA International Speedway (March 2007). He holds a career best short track time trials effort of eighth at Berlin Raceway (July 2006). A 16th place qualifying effort at Kansas Speedway (April 2007) and Talladega Superspeedway (October 2006) is Silas’s best speedway run to date.

The Hantz Group 200 by Federated Auto Care (200 laps/100 miles) is the eighth of 23 events on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. Practice begins Saturday, May 19 with an hour and a half ( 12:30pm-2:00pm Local Time) session planned. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying is slated for later in the afternoon at 3:30pm Local Time. The event will take the green flag Sunday beginning at 12:00pm Local Time. The event will be televised live on SPEED with additional race coverage online at arcaracing.com
