ARCA RE/MAX Series Race No. 8, Hantz Group 200 by Federated Auto Care
Toledo Speedway, Toledo , Ohio

Race Information: Event: Hantz Group 200 presented by Federated Auto Care, Sunday, May 20 at 12:00 p.m. Local Time live on SPEED Track: Toledo Speedway Qualifying: Saturday, May 19 at 3:30 p.m. Local Time Track Length: .5-mile paved oval.

Kentucky Recap: After two finishes outside the top-10, ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS) rookie Phillip McGilton returned to top-10 status after posting a solid eighth place finish after starting third in last Saturday night’s Buckle-Up Kentucky 150. The event marked the second time McGilton competed at the 1.5-mile facility.

So Glad You Stopped In Toledo : For the first time in his career, McGilton will make his Toledo Speedway debut Sunday. He won’t be alone as the Kentucky-based Brewco Motorsports team will also make their inaugural appearance at the historical half-mile short track.

How Did The Test Go?: Trying to get a grip on Toledo Speedway which holds 18-degree banking, McGilton and his team participated in a test session at the Northern Ohio based track. McGilton’s lap times proved strong giving the confidence for another stellar short track performance on Sunday.

Welcome Aboard: The Brewco Motorsports team welcomes Midwest Equipment as the primary sponsor of the No. 47 Ford Fusion this weekend at Toledo Speedway. Joining Midwest Equipment is SIPerformance, a familiar backer of McGilton’s racing career.

Points Chase: With his solid finish under the Kentucky lights last Saturday, McGilton gained three spots in the championship chase rising from eighth to fifth. He sits just 60 credits behind fourth place runner Bobby Gerhart, 75 points behind third place competitor Dexter Bean, trailing second place runner Justin Allgaier by 105 and 135 merits from first now held by eight-time ARS champion Frank Kimmel.

Don’t Forget The Rookie Chase: In addition to running for the ARS championship this season, McGilton is also vowing to be the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series Rookie-of-the-Year. Currently, he leads those standings heading into the first of two events at Toledo Speedway this season.

Brewco Motorsports, Toledo Speedway Pre-Race Quotes:
Phillip McGilton, driver of the No. 47 Midwest Equipment Ford:

On Kentucky : “It was a good night for the Brewco Motorsports team. We needed to rebound from performances at Kansas and Winchester and we accomplished that. We also moved up in the point standings which was our main objective heading into the race.”

On Toledo Speedway : “It’s a flat track with some banking. I think it’s going to be a fun race, but I also think it’s going to be a race where you gotta have luck. We’ve run well on the short tracks all year long and this weekend should be no exception.”

On The Toledo Test: “The test went well. Any time we can test on a track that we’ve never raced on, it’s important. This weekend is a battle of firsts for us. I’ve never been here and the team has never raced here, but I think we have a solid setup for the car and we should be strong right out of the box. It’s important for us to test this year; it definitely has kept me in the thick of things all year long.”

On The Rookie Chase: “We had a good weekend last weekend and some of my other competitors weren’t as fortunate. The Rookie-of-the-Year chase is going to come down to the final race of the season which just so happens to be at Toledo . Every point counts and we’re remembering that every week.”
