ARCA RE/MAX Series Race No. 8, Hantz Group 200 by Federated Auto Care
Toledo Speedway, Toledo , Ohio

Race Information: Event: Hantz Group 200 presented by Federated Auto Care, Sunday, May 20 at 12:00 p.m. Local Time live on SPEED Track: Toledo Speedway Qualifying: Saturday, May 19 at 3:30 p.m. Local Time Track Length: .5-mile paved oval.

Kentucky Recap: Sometimes a performance does not reflect its finish and that sums up last Saturday night’s Buckle-Up Kentucky 150 for Dexter Bean and his BlackJack Racing team. After starting 15th, Bean maneuvered himself into the top-10, while using pit strategy to position himself in the top-five for much of the event. However, a cut tire thanks to a small piece of debris ended the team’s bid for a record five straight top-10 performance and instead delivered a 15th place effort.

Nice Stats: Despite the 15th-place finish last Saturday night, Bean still has awarded his team with successful results this season. In the last five races, Bean has produced one top-five, a career-best of second at Salem Speedway while posting additional top-10 efforts of ninth at Nashville Superspeedway, 10th at Kansas Speedway and an eighth place effort two weeks ago at Winchester Speedway.

Looking Back: On his list of favorite racetracks on the ARCA RE/MAX Series circuit, Toledo Speedway doesn’t rank to the top. Bean struggled last season with the intimidating half-mile short track collecting finishes of 24th in both events. With 2007 a complete turnaround season thus far from 2006, Bean hopes that includes his performances at Toledo too.

Points Chase: With another consistent run under his belt last Saturday night at Kentucky Speedway, Bean maintained third in the point standings just 30 points from second place Justin Allgaier and only 60 markers from the points lead now held by reigning ARCA champion Frank Kimmel.

Chassis Information: The BlackJack Racing team will unload this weekend the same Chevrolet Monte Carlo the team placed their season best finish of second last month at Salem Speedway and most recently a nice eighth place finish at the wicked Winchester Speedway. This is the same automobile the team competed with at both Toledo Speedway events last year. The car is also responsible for Bean’s ARCA SIM Factory pole performance last September at Salem Speedway, the first ARCA pole of his career.

Welcome Back: Five Star Telecom, a longtime racing supporter of BlackJack Racing will step up and return as an associate sponsor this weekend at Toledo . Since their beginning in 1973, FST (Five Star Telecom), a long-time supporter of Bean’s racing career has become one of the largest interconnect companies in the Upper Midwest , with multiple locations serving the tri-state area.

Sponsorship Search Continues: BlackJack Racing still has several openings on their No. 6 Chevrolet Monte Carlo for the seventh event on the ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. Immediate one race or long term sponsorship positions are available. Contact the team today and be a part of the action.

Did You Know?: In addition to preparing their ARCA RE/MAX Series cars, BlackJack Racing is also working on their NASCAR machine preparing to make their first of several NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) stops this season. The team plans to debut their ’07 Busch program at the Milwaukee Mile next month.

BlackJack Racing, Toledo Speedway Pre-Race Quotes:
Dexter Bean, driver of the No. 6 Five Star Telecom Chevrolet Monte Carlo :

On Kentucky : “It was hard to swallow. We went so long staying in the top-five and to have a flat tire while running inside the top-five is like blowing a motor on the last lap in turn four while leading. But, it could have been a lot worse and we still ended up with a decent finish. The car is in one piece, that’s the main thing. Better luck hopefully when we return in July.”

On Toledo Speedway : “The track and I haven’t come to an understanding of each other just yet. Hopefully that will change this weekend. Our short track program has been stout this season and we hope to continue that charge on Saturday and Sunday. We’ve qualified decent here, just been engulfed in someone else’s mess. Hopefully we’ll have a clean race on Sunday.”

On The Tight Points Race: “Luckily Frank and Justin finished just ahead of us last weekend, so it wasn’t a bad points day, but we could have gained a lot if we didn’t have the flat tire. That’s part of racing. We just hope for the best this weekend and we’ll let the points fall into place.”

On The Race Being Televised: “I’m glad that the race is being televised this weekend. We’re looking for additional sponsorship of our car, so we need to get our name out there even more. It’s important for these ARCA races to be on television. Our race fans for the first time since Daytona will be able to watch a race live and I know a lot of them are looking forward to it. It’s also a good thing for the ARCA fans that can’t get to the track and helps our sponsors stay informed with how we are doing. Hopefully we can continue to run upfront like we have been all season and maybe we’ll gain some additional recognition.
